The Wedge isn’t really a surfable wave, except on very specific occasions. The recent south swell that hit California just barely qualifies.
In this raw edit from BeefsTV, we see mostly violent thrashings with the rare successful tube. Major players include former CTer Timmy Reyes, San Clemente’s QS cadet Kei Kobayashi, and flaccid craft enthusiast Tyler Stanaland. Some guy also does a 360-shuv it with his bodyboard at some point.
And while the above smash reel is always quality entertainment, it seems the filmer missed some of the day’s best waves, including those of Kei and Timmy below.
Typically the Wedge seems like a free invitation to break your neck, but these rare makes force a second-thought.
