Yago Dora And A Different Type Of Cloudbreak Edit
There’s tubes, sure, but it’s Yago’s progressive tone that makes this clip sizzle.
Yago Dora’s CT rank (21) is precisely what confuses most people about competitive surfing.
How is it that the kid with impeccable style, Lopez-like tube skills (that’s Cory, Shea, and Gerry), and perhaps the best progressive make ratio in the sport is currently 15 spots behind Willian Cardoso?
As proven by the above video, Yago Dora is one of the best all-around surfers in the world.
He can ride the tube with aplomb, his turns are well-formed and precise, and his ability to punt, spin, and slide are matched only by a select few.
It saddens to think that Yago, with all of his talent and ambition, could actually fall off Tour this year – or worse, conform his surfing to meet the WSL’s heat-winning criteria.
We just want to live in a world where Yago’s abilities are properly appreciated by the panel of five.
