As Round one at the Pipe Masters gets underway there’s a sombre aura in the air. This is the last time we’ll see Joel Parkinson on the World Tour.

He’s sitting second in the Triple Crown rankings and has taken out the Pipe Masters before. And while we’re certain Joel would kill to hold a trophy above his head as a send off, we’re also sure he’s content surfing uncrowded Pipe amongst his peers.

This latest and final episode of Billabong’s ‘Parko’s Last Lap’ accrues all of the closest surfers to Parko throughout his career; Mick Fanning, Taj Burrow, Dingo Morrison, Mark Occhilupo, and several more.

They’re right in saying Joel was one of a kind. As the clip flicks back through some of Joel’s most defining moments, it’s easy to see why he’s going to be missed. There truly isn’t anyone else that surfs with such elegance and grace, while simultaneously tearing the guts out of a wave.

Slide back up and reminisce in some of Parko’s best moments accompanied by a soundtrack of his peers positive opinions.
