Fun for Young and Old

Jack Robinson is comin’ up, big time. If he continues on his current trajectory, Jack’ll undoubtedly become one of surfing’s biggest names in years to come. At just 12 years of age, the kid’s won the 12’s, 16’s and 18’s divisions of the West Australian Championships. And for the latter two divisions, he was six years junior of the rest of the competitive field. Jack’s caught the attention of fellow WA resident Taj Burrow, having won TB’s Small Fries event twice, the second instance of which was only a week ago. Stab took Jack on a trip with the world’s best groms a while back – the kid lit the Mentawis up and was a definite stand-out. For the full story, check out Stab issue 46, out now. Although there’s some throw-aways and other junk in the above clip, y’still get a fair indication of the kinda potential Jack’s got. Growing up in WA and surfing with the likes of Taj Burrow and Jay Davies, who also feature in this clip, it’s obvious that Jack has some excellent guidance and will continue to make his mark in the future. Jay and Taj, who recently returned from a trip to Fiji, are also flaring hard on this chopped-out little right. Jay seems to get better every time we see him and Taj, well, he’s as good as ever.
