Mad Hueys best stunt yet

The Mad Hueys have pulled off their greatest stunt yet. A near-miss with a shark attack and a starring role on breakfast television in Australia. Gold Coast label The Mad Hueys, the brainchild of Shaun and Dean Harrington, were working on their latest web edit yesterday: shark diving in a budgie bird cage just a click or so out from Snapper Rocks. Once in the water, however, shit got real. An eight foot Tiger shark had a serious look and swing at Shaun, and ironically, the parody shark cage they had in the water as a prop probably saved his legs in an attack. “I was just lucky I had that budgie bird cage in front of me,” said Sean to Australian breakfast god, Karl Stefanovic. Anyways, the Stab office is melting down with various TV shows trying to get Shaun’s phone number to star on their shows. This story will lightly melt down the internet for the next few days, until we probably see things turn full circle with animal rights activists going HAM on the Mad Hueys. In the meantime, watch this clip and the Mad Hueys giving the surf industry a free lesson in effective (and costless) PR. We’re looking forward to the new Mad Hueys slogan tee: There is no such thing as bad publicity except your own obituary.   Here’s the interview on The Today Show with Karl Stefanovic Not all sharks are as friendly as these guys here…
