In the past year Shaun Manners landed the covers of Surfing World and The Surfer’s Journal, signed the first major contract with Dane Reynolds and Craig Anderson’s brand Former, placed second in Stab High, went on Vacation, moved homes, and now finally – released his Cult of Freedom part with Globe.

All this on top of becoming the poster boy for the City of Busselton’s rubbish.

“I loved the soundtrack,” said filmmaker Wade Carroll, “Jenno’s cinematography too, obviously. The little character revealing moments in between, that techno track at Gnaraloo, the Brumby shots through the Gumtrees and the fact that the whole thing is just super blue.”

We rewatch the Rabbit Hill section before Wade scurries off to his cubby hole to tune his forthcoming film for Quik. “Fucken oath, I’m inspired.”

Household instantly assembled at the notice of the films arrival. The couch. Phones down. Tunes off. Airplay. Big screen.

…That doesn’t happen very often.

The consensus: Remarkable.

Globe continues to lace the feet of many of the most celebrated and influential names in the surf world including: Noa Deane, Creed McTaggart, Jai Glindeman, Dakoda Walters, Dion Agius, Shaun Manners, Taj Burrow and more.

Their films from the Cult of Freedom property, to Strange Rumblings in Shangri La, Dark Hollow, Electric Blue Heaven and Year Zero, are some of the most iconic releases of the past fifteen years.

Add this one to the list.
