The round one draw for the Quiksilver Pro, France has been finalised. And, Dane Reynolds is in it. While the 34 currently rolls into Hossegor on the Landes Coast for the event, which begins in four days’ time, Dane has already been there for a stint, filming for Craig Anderson’s new film (which Dane’s production house, Marine Layer, is making). The French Quik Pro was one of few events Dane did last year thanks to a flurry of injuries, but he lit up in every heat, just as he did at the Quik Pro, Gold Coast this year. And, as he did in the Nike US Open of Surfing, where he actually seemed to wanna win (pre-heat warm-up surfs!). We can only hope he brings the same attitude to Hossegor. The Venturan’s best moments in these events, and his performance in Kai Neville’s recently-released Dear Suburbia, are the precise reason that Dane in a contest jersey is worth being excited about. There’s some other killer match-ups in round one, which you can view below. The next four days can’t pass quick enough.
