Butter Knives: Andrew Doheny
The key to finding life and spirit in onshore slop!
Finding life and spirit in onshore slop isn’t always a breezy task. But the most important element to this puzzle is a far-too-overlooked one: Ride a quirky board! These boards, or Butter Knives as Stab likes to call ’em since they still ride smooth even in slop, are the key to fun when conditions aren’t ideal. This is something of a specialty area for Andrew ‘Droid’ Doheny.
Droid is a California kid who embodies the Volcom spirit and has one of the meanest closeout disaster turns you’ve ever seen. He shapes a lot of his own boards but when he isn’t riding those, you’ll find him burning the rails out of Panda shapes. In this episode of Butter Knives, we see Droid take apart a very, very realistic, everyday lineup on a 5’6”x 19”x 2”1/4 Channeled Inn, rounded hip, squash tail (quad), shaped by Blake Peters.
