If you’ve been in the surf industry in any capacity in the last 20 years, you’ve spent time at the Billabong house. Walked through the logo-shaped gate. Left your slippers on the stoop. Watched Pipe Masters heats from the deck, and ran inside to catch the replays on the living room TV.

That house, which sits on the east side of the path leading to Off The Wall and has a perfect view into Backdoor caverns, no longer belongs to Billabong.

Mark Weber, Billabong’s Global GM, told Shop-Eat-Surf the following:

The Billabong house on the North Shore has a long and storied history with the brand. Witnessing more than two decades of Hawaiian winters together, including many world title showdowns, along with the crowning of Andy, Parko, and Italo.

While we’re not in the business of owning and managing a property on the North Shore anymore, we’re extremely happy that a close friend of the brand has taken on the house and partnered with us to ensure that it will remain the headquarters for the brand and the Billabong Pro Pipeline for many years to come.

The real estate transaction occurred while rumors that Boardriders, which owns Billabong (as well as Quiksilver, Roxy, RVCA, VonZipper, DC and Element) is itself looking to sell. We’ll share more on that if the whispers prove to be true.
