Here’s The Update On John Florence’s Knee Injury

Straight from the world number one’s mouth!

John’s camp’s been tight-lipped on the state of his knee. We’ve heard mixed responses along the lines of “he’ll make the call as we get closer to the event.” So we’ve been waiting for something definitive. As has been reported: John took a spill during the finals at Chopes while he faced off with Kelly Slater and “heard a pop.” Our correspondent Jake Howard, who watched it unfold from the channel later told us he was limping after his heat. John mustered the energy to get himself onto to the podium, no limp, looking healthy and in his nonchalant style of gratitude accepted the Jeep Leader honours.

Last night at the Let’s be Frank movie premiere, the one which features John as the narrator. We got a quick snippet out of him in regards to his knee injury and his status for Lowers.

“My knee feels great,” John told Stab. “It was just a little tweak in Tahiti and it’s all good now. Now I’m getting ready for Lowers, can’t wait.”

And that’s that.
