Mikey Wright Gets Engaged To His Spearfishing Queen

Mikey Wright has been out of competition for more than half the year with a busted back, but he’s been far from idle in his rest. 

When he’s not busy fishing, throwing knives, or feeding the local cattle population, Mikey Wright has been cultivating a loving partnership with one Shenay Carey, a grinning Australian gal whose Instagram bio reads, “VB and a rare steak.”

Like Mikey, Shenay is clearly a fan of fishing, middle fingers, and cheap Australian beer. A match made in Culburra. 

Mikey symbolized his affection for Ms. Carey with a shiny mineral affixed to a finger loop—a timeless tradition that converts to many appreciation taps on photo-sharing applications. The Mullet has even agreed to share ownership of his scruffy, adorable dog with his wife-to-be, which is the truest sign of love. 

It also serves as proof that even Mongrels can, eventually, be tamed. 

While Mikey and Shenay are busy planning a VB-themed ceremony, we hope the youngest Wright won’t get off track with his spinal recovery efforts. We want to see that flowing mane back at Snapper next March.
