Your Opinion Required: Which Stab In The Dark Shaper Did Dane Reynolds Wear Best?

We know who felt right to Dane, but what looked best to you?

A few months back we sent Mr Reynolds to South Africa on a blind date with 13 blanks. We called it Stab in the Dark (it was our second go round, you can watch last year’s competition with Julian Wilson below). Presuming you’ve already watched it, you’re aware that by the end ten long days testing all the boards, he deemed Sir Jon Pyzel the winner. Which by looking at the surfing our new world champ, John Florence does on Pyzel’s shapes it comes as no surprise that they go good. However, before our very subjective experiment, we hadn’t seen much of Dane. So, it was refreshing to see the gent still tearing in the fashion we fell in love with long ago.

But let’s get back to the subjectivity of this concept. Because what Dane feels beneath his feet can be different to what we see. And coming down to the end of the 36 minutes of board testing–as can be seen at the top of this page–six or so boards could’ve easily gotten the nod. Even when he narrowed it down to HS, Mayhem, Pyzel and JS it was splitting hairs between who he looked best on.

With that said, we want to know what slice of foam you thought Mr Reynolds was doing his finest surfing. Why? Because making judgements and imposing them on others is one of life’s highest privileges. Just scroll through our comment section for proof.

Here’s what Dane and the world champ have in common:
