The dedicated few to learn her devilish ways well have walked away with some of the most memorable rides of their surfing lives, and have left an imprint on the culture’s collective imagination as to how that hallowed hollow beast can be ridden.
From Butch and Lopez to John and Jamie O’, generations have chosen Pipe to make their lasting impression, and in the clip above, filmed at the RVCA house on the beach at Off The Wall this year, a handful of heavies weigh in on their favorites to ever ride the Pipeline, particularly Danny Fuller, who drops a lovely little North Shore history lesson.
