We’re Giving Away Tickets To The Agenda Music Festival In Long Beach

A trade show that’s actually a good time.

“Hello, yes, can you work Agenda this year?”

“No, you can’t stay at home… Yes, I know you’re clueless about multi-platform ideations and endemic audiences. You don’t have to talk about that…You’ll be working the keg making sure everyone’s cups are full to keep them happy. Yes, it’s what all the interns do. Alright, we’ll see you tomorrow at 11, kegs don’t roll out until four.”

“Can I skate the ramp until then?”

“Sure.”

And that’s how I ended up at Agenda for the first time two years ago. Being the intern pouring beers for a company who’ll remain nameless because I’d hate to put Volcom into an uncomfortable spot. And I’ve been coming back since.

It’s alright to hate on trade shows. I know I do. I can’t talk the talk, and a strained conversation followed by a handshake is my personal purgatory. Plus, I look all sorts of wrong in a suit and tie and am exceptional at forgetting names and losing business cards.

Agenda, California: The scene of scenes.

But Agenda’s different. Sure, the song remains the same: All biz at the forefront. Two days dedicated to significant and emerging companies with people working booths cuddled into the Long Beach Convention Center looking to gain distributors, make connections, or just show face and stay relevant.

Only difference is it involves a bunch of surfers, skaters, artists and fashion minds under one roof rather than the stuffy business casual crowd of the norm. Which makes for some interesting encounters. Instead of sounding like a scratched record and rambling on about how amusing the state of affairs becomes once everyone starts getting liquored up, I’ll just let you know what’s fresh on tap for this year:

Not a single pressed shirt or pair of slacks in sight.

For the first time, Agenda will have a one-day music festival open to the public. Held on July 15th, it’ll feature Tyler, The Creator, Ludacris, Cam’Ron, Lil Dicky and more. There’ll be food trucks and pop-up shops from brands such as Levi’s, New Balance, Patagonia, Adidas, Nixon, Stance, RVCA, Hurley and more.

Sound nice? Let me guess, you’re worried you’ll have to sacrifice too many rounds at the bar for a pair of tickets? Well don’t, because Stab wants to gift you and five friends passes. All you have to do is click over to our event page on Facebook, tag five friends in the comment section below and send your email to us via Facebook messenger. We’ve got 50 tickets to give away and will select 10 winners at random – the odds are in your favour!

Also, speaking of Stab and Agenda, we’re going to have our own setup this year. Seriously. Come on down July 13th and 14th and say hello. You won’t have to look hard to find us.
