Wade Goodall Bring’s Artistic Flavor To His Third Signature Vans Collection
*Insert sound of the email we just sent to Vans’ PR department for every piece in the range.
Wade Goodall’s creative endeavors don’t get nearly the love they deserve.
Last year we highlighted just how impressive Wade’s undertakings were during the rollout of his highly lauded full-length film Pentacoastal. While the art was exceptional, it was overshadowed by his elite level of surfing.
Wade spent days upon days penning thousands of drawings for the film, which eventually turned into fully animated digital renderings. Thankfully, Vans is fully aware of Mr. Goodall’s talents, and they struck gold with his third exclusive capsule collection.
Wade’s art is intricately integrated into nearly every piece of the capsule, bringing the same splashes of color that adorn the white background drawings anchored to his latest film. While the capsule utilizes every character within the ROY-G-BIV scale (laced silhouettes come with bonus primary lace packs), the foundation is inherently utilitarian.
This drop includes new iterations of the Sk8-Hi 138 Decon SF, The Destruct SF, and Slip-On SF. With that being said… don’t sleep on the slides. Let’s face it; you’re probably going to lose at least one pair of flops on the beach this summer.
Regarding his signature garments, Wade said:
With my new range, I really wanted a combination of clean design with art and customization. The shoes are hard-wearing with bonus primary color lace packs so that people can have fun and make them their own. Whatever mood or phase they are in, they can be themselves. Prints and embroidery of my watercolor paintings are throughout, and then there’s some classic, clean pieces. It is a range that is like me: at times toned down, happy doing my own thing and sometimes covered in paint.
