Town & Country’s Inimitable Logo Is Ready To Join Your Summer Wardrobe
Vissla taps the iconic Hawaiian brand for a mainline injection of 70’s vibes.
Since their founding in 1971, Town and Country surfboards have played a pivotal role in surfing’s overall progression.
From their development of a twin fin that propelled Dane Kealoha to his famous #2 World Ranking, to putting boards under the feet of Hawaiian legends Larry Bertlemann, Sunny Garcia, Johnny Gomes, Makua Rothman and Billy Kemper, T&C has been a staple amongst surfing’s elite vanguard.
While the surfing done on the boards shaped by Craig Sugihara and Glenn Pang speaks for itself, the visual representation of their products has transcended generations. Vissla has decided to bring that very aesthetic to the modern consumer in a capsule collection celebrating T&C Surf’s 50 years of creating and innovating.
The Town and Country look has always been enviable, from the vibrant spray jobs to their iconic Yin-Yang logo. While we’re far removed from the ’70s, where one’s airbrush meant almost as much as the board itself, the color-drenched sleds that popped from the pages of your favorite vintage mag are entirely in-tune with today’s expressive, ‘wear what you want,’ mantra. So it’s no surprise that these skittle-esque boards fetch a pretty penny as wall hangars on today’s market.
Vissla has re-imagined the iconic sprays, utilizing the iconic T&C looks to create a collection of goods that commemorate the brand’s 50th anniversary. In addition, they used their staple of battle-tested coconut boardshorts to produce inseam lengths for legs of all shapes and sizes and even made a wetsuit jacket for those breezy, post-work summer sessions.
Click here for an offering from a core surf brand that is undoubtedly cool, and click above to watch the Vissla produced digital short that accompanies the collection. Don’t sleep. Everyone who remembers T&C’s heavy-hitting heydays will be sure to pounce on this immediately.
The good folks of Vissla x T&C Surf want you to own this collection, and they’ve made it for you to do so. They will be giving one lucky winner a 5’8’’ Twin Fin shaped by Glenn Pang, plus a whole run of the clothing capsule, including a tee-shirt, a wetsuit top, and a pair of boardshorts.
