The Stab Gift Guide
Indoek Wax Kit. The Indoek Wax Kit is something Stab’s real fond of. Designed in collaboration with Todd St. John, the newest batch is made using a darker wood than the first, a Central American hardwood called Nogal, which comes from only fallen trees in Nicaragua. But, where are our manners? For those who don’t know what this little guy is all about, it’s made for storing, scraping and combing wax. The container holds most circular wax moulds, and the scraper lid is held in place by two magnets. They’re hand made, durable and sustainable, designed with minimal waste. House your sticky stuff with panache! Scoop here. **** Tweeds And, especially, the Hotel Santorini style trunk, pictured here. Tweeds is a new underwear label from Kolohe Andino, based completely on attention to detail. What’re they all about? “Tweeds is simple. It’s about trying hard, trying to improve yourself, trying to leave a good impression on everyone you meet. It’s about travel. It’s about a life in the water. So, why underwear? Well, that’s the thing, ain’t it. Tweeds believes in a good foundation. In attention to detail.” And, of the Hotel Santorini, Tweeds say: “Planning on waking up somewhere that that ain’t your own house? We all love a strange bedroom and bedside tables and dropping a pin to find out where you are. Make em remember you by your underwear.” See the tricked-out site here, or buy the things here. **** Stab x O’Neill Trunks Summer’s tuning up in Oz. The heat is on and the water’s glowing. It’s trunk time. These trunks, the fruits of a Stab x O’Neill fraternisation, feature an immaculate poly talon slide, leopard draw cord, front button closure, and sweet-as-your-mumma’s-apple-pie back pocket. They feel better than sin and age like good vino. They’re available exclusively at SDS, here. **** Volcom Glued Stone LS Vest (Black) Front zips blazed onto the scene some time ago, but perhaps it’s time to roll back to basics. This is for that time of the year when the water is divine, but the wind whips furiously. It’s a 90s-style Volcom vest, long sleeved, black, with a big Stone shape carved outta the front. Oversized logos mightn’t be your jam, but this is more of a design detail that adds to the pop of it all. Don’t sweat about getting it over your head either, ’cause there’s a little opening down on the tail. Available at SurfStitch, here. **** Rusty Cold Rock Duffle Bag (Coastal Blue) The day trip ain’t dead, nor will it ever be. Stuff your wetsuit, vest, towel, wax, fins, beer and lunch in this Rusty duffle bag (it’ll fit everything) and stomp the sand dunes to seclusion. It comes with a larger shoulder strap inside that you can clip on for those hikes, or lose it and use the smaller handles for bolting around the city. That blue certainly looks good poolside, too. Available to SurfStitch, here.
