Welcome back to the month of March, that time of year when the Gold Coast is overrun by the entirety of surfing’s extended family. The scaffold is up, ready to be wrapped in banners, logos and assorted world tour paraphernalia. It’s always a thrill strolling through the hive, bumping shoulders with competitors, photographers, promo gals and your favourite faces from the webcast. After grinding through a dismal start to the season, Snapper’s finally had a taste of swell, but long range forecasts suggest the opening days of the CT window will disappoint. However, if you’re not out taking a ticket in the busy lineup, there’s always plenty of ways to get your kicks during the CT’s first stop.

Hurley have forwarded us a list of events to pencil into our GC schedules. Whether or not the waves show they’ll have Q&A’s with Julian Wilson, board demos with JS, wisdom from Wayne ‘Rabbit’ Bartholomew, surf training and more running every day. Run your eyes over the itinerary below and avoid dull moments.
