Support The Fight Against Motor Neurone Disease And Surf Melbourne’s First Wavepool
With Mick Fanning and your favourite surf buddy.
Motor Neurone Disease is one of nature’s cruelest creations.
MND is a deadly neurodegenerative disease that results in rapidly progressive muscle weakness. Over time patients lose the use of their arms, legs, speech, ability to eat, swallow and eventually, breathe. It’s a horrible way to go and prognosis is about 27 months on average.
Currently the disease affects more than 2000 people across Australia (not including family and friends) and there is no effective treatment or cure.
There’s still so much to learn, but research comes at a cost.
In an ideal world there wouldn’t be any need for offer prizes to get people to chip in for support, but if you are going to offer an incentive, Creatures Of Leisure, FightMND and three time best surfer on the planet, Mick Fanning have quite the compelling package.
Here’s what they’re putting up:
-2 x Round trips to Melbourne, with accommodation at Mantra.
-2 x VIP passes to the 2019 Rip Curl Pro at Bells.
-2 x Tickets to an AFL game at the MCG.
-A private session for you, a friend and White Lightning himself in Australia’s first (functioning) hi-fi wavepool.
Last we heard, ground had been broken at Tullamarine by Wavegarden tech holders, URBNSURF and things were moving along as planned, so by April you (and the luckiest friend you have) could be getting absolutely dominated by Mick Fanning in Australia’s shiniest new surf toy.
Whilst being among the first to surf the pool sounds enticing, don’t forget you’ll be chilling VIP style with off-duty Mick at the next Bells event and accompanying him to a good honest game of footy. Stab recommends clearing your schedule of any important commitments for the following recovery days, you’ll need them.
What you’ve got to do to get in the running:
Hit this link, chip $20 (or more) in to help find a cure for MND then wait patiently by the phone/email on January 11 in the hopes that you’ve won the thing.
Creatures Of Leisure have also developed a limited edition leggy specifically for this campaign, which you can purchase here. All profits will be donated direct to the cause.
In the words of Mick Fanning:
“Fight MND so we can have a surf.”
Some fine print: Contest closes January 1, and is only open to Australian entrants.
