Stab Recommends: The Mindless Luxury Edition
7 ways to treat yo self.
Anyone else had a hankering to flex the plastic online in the past few weeks?
It must be a combination of the extra time spent perusing online, and the knowledge that in uncertain economic times, the last thing you should really be doing is buying sneakers. But that’s what makes it so wickedly right. We’re not going to openly encourage reckless spending, but if you’re feeling uninhibited then come browse our recent indulgences.
Off-White – Logo-Appliquéd Full-Grain Leather Sneakers
Virgil Abloh’s Off-White is the hallmark of streetwear luxury, and if there’s one thing the man knows, it’s sneakers. You’re unlikely to wear them daily, but they’ll age like fine wine. Think of it as an investment.
Pisco Sour – Cuarto G’s ‘Mosto Verde Italia’ (750ml)
All sours are awesome, but if you’re after something different, we’re rather fond of pisco. Peru’s finest export lends itself perfectly to a squeeze of lemon, dash of syrup and the brief whist of an egg white. The perfect cocktail-hour drop.
Otopus – Massive Logo Hoodie
Not lux in terms of its maker being one of the major fashion houses, but lux in warmth and practicality. Octopus know a thing or two about making useful gear, the wonderfully named ‘Massive Logo’ hood is perfect for sneaking down the local to check the surf or for hibernating couch-side.
Woody Gooch Print
Hands down one of the lest-regrettable things to splash cash on is something you can hang on your wall. Woody Gooch is a fine photographer and bon vivant whose online store is packed full of things that’ll style-out your nest til your dying day.
Old Pal – 5 Gram Ready To Roll Kit
To purchase a LAND-branded pouch full of herb (indica, sativa or hybrid) that you don’t even have to grind is truly a beautiful thing. Old Pal have absolutely nailed the modern Cali-hemp aesthetic, and we love their attention to detail. It’s the little things.
Moscot – Arthur Sun
Nice sunglasses are like German cars; you can feel their quality as soon as you pry them open. Moscot have been making blissfully gorgeous specs for over a hundred years, and if you’re looking to put some daylight between you and the predictable shades your mates are wearing then look no further.
Pho – Your Local Vietnamese Restaurant
It would’ve been easy (and predictable) to ‘insert expensive food here’ for culinary luxury, but we decided to go with what ‘feels’ best. And nothing feels better going down than the heavenly mix of broth, noodles, (preferably) beef, chilli, coriander and associated goodness that is Vietnam’s most wonderful edible gift to the world.
