All sours are awesome, but if you’re after something different, we’re rather fond of pisco. Peru’s finest export lends itself perfectly to a squeeze of lemon, dash of syrup and the brief whist of an egg white. The perfect cocktail-hour drop.

Not lux in terms of its maker being one of the major fashion houses, but lux in warmth and practicality. Octopus know a thing or two about making useful gear, the wonderfully named ‘Massive Logo’ hood is perfect for sneaking down the local to check the surf or for hibernating couch-side.

Hands down one of the lest-regrettable things to splash cash on is something you can hang on your wall. Woody Gooch is a fine photographer and bon vivant whose online store is packed full of things that’ll style-out your nest til your dying day.

It would’ve been easy (and predictable) to ‘insert expensive food here’ for culinary luxury, but we decided to go with what ‘feels’ best. And nothing feels better going down than the heavenly mix of broth, noodles, (preferably) beef, chilli, coriander and associated goodness that is Vietnam’s most wonderful edible gift to the world.
