Stab In The Dark Is Now Out On iTunes (Or Wherever You Plug And Play)
But first, here are some scenes from last night’s premiere in Honolulu.
Why is it when you need something to run smooth, the way it almost always does, things go pear? Last night, we hosted our world premiere of Stab in the Dark at the Surf Jack Resort in Honolulu. And, it all ran according to plan. We also hosted the World online premiere of the same film, which for a moment, borderline on a dotcommercialcatastophe.
Let’s backtrack a moment. Thirty minutes before the time we planned on sending Stab in the Dark online, I retreated to the hotel room at the Surf Jack to put the final touches on the post. And by final touches, I mean hit the publish button–an easy task that requires simply signing into our backend and one click of the mouse. But, due to an incredibly high volume of traffic, our website essentially crashed. With no entrance, it was impossible to send the film to the masses. I watched as traffic on the site climbed by the hundreds, then thousands, and called the kind folks who hold the keys to our https://castle.
The conversation went like this.
“Plenty of digital jargon Morgan does not understand.”
“Yup, that makes sense”
“More HTML, upload, overload, loading jargon Morgan doesn’t get at all.”
“Uh-huh, got it. So can you fix this?” I asked desperately.
“Yup, I just need to block all traffic from the site. What’s your IP address?”
Then after being walked through exactly how to find my IP address, the site was blocked out for 10 minutes so I could tap the easy button I’d been looking for and return downstairs to the current party at hand.
Now, everything’s back to normal. The post is off the site. The Vimeo link is on private. And for those who tuned in, we thank you for your patience.
If you missed Stab in the Dark All-Stars starring Dane, Mick, and Jordy, you can now purchase it on iTunes, Vimeo, Amazon plus any of the below links for the price of a beer, sandwich, or hemp latte at an expensively chic cafe in Los Angeles.
We love making these films and plan on making plenty more in the future. We appreciate those who support us. And thanks to Just Water for providing the plastic-free H20!
