Some ‘Sliced’ Style We Dig (pt II)
Care of Surfstitch, Dion Agius dropped Sliced (Pudding) a coupla weeks back, a digital short by Toby Cregan. It starred, of course, Dion himself, along with friends Craig Anderson and Creed McTaggart. It was a very good watch, about as good as lo-fi digital shorts get, and Dion’s raw surfing housed in Toby’s raw editing felt like watching a rough diamond sparkle on the roof of a cave. Dion’s bent is not just above the lip of a wave, but also in his dry land game, which features many feels towards finely cut threads and luxe products. Some of his, and our, current favourites lie below. Call it a guest editor’s choice, a Sliced Pudding-themed selection, or whatever else you want; All we know is these wares tick boxes. **** Globe Los Angered Dion Agius Leather Hi Shoe (Toffee) The Los Angered are Dion’s piece de resistance. His fifth symphony. You’ll find them on the feet of any surfer sponsored by Globe, and plenty who aren’t, because they’re slick, comfortable, and versatile. Variations of black have been kicking around for some time, but these toffee numbers really step it up. Like a caramelised anything is good, especially leather. The rustic vibes sit real well with us. Buy the Globe Los Angered in Toffee, here. **** SUPERbrand Dion Agius Craft II Surfboard (Black) You might assume Dion’s boards would be built for skating. But this raft is shockingly versatile. Sure, it’s rockered and ridden shorter and great for ramps and all that jazz, but it’ll hold a line with pleasant surprise and take on nearly all the power you can throw at it. It comes in everything between 5’4″ and 6’2″, but you’ll wanna step down a little. This is a board to house Dion’s imagination, so think big on this thing. Buy the Dion Agius Craft II Surfboard here. **** Epokhe Nazar Sunglasses (Tortoise Matte) Epokhe’s rise has been gradual but incessant, and it’s been brill to watch it progress. The Nazar is the brand’s newest style, a classic outline with shades of Cold War-era FBI but contemporised just enough. Add in the bronze bottom and turquoise wings and the colour palette is easy on all fronts. These’ll certainly sit well with the toffee Los Angereds, and probably up your chances of getting girls that look like the ones in all Epokhe’s short films. Buy the Epokhe Nazar Sunglasses here. **** Globe Large Luggage Travel Bag (Black) Take it from someone who just spent five weeks bouncing through Europe – good bags are everything. Yep, we’re also still keeping with a similar colour palate here. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix. There’s some things that are just required additions to a bag like this: Adjustable handle, roller wheels, moulded eva base and axle guard, durable trolley system. And this bag has all of them. Plus, the added bonus of brill aesthetics. Buy the Globe Large Luggage Travel Bag here. **** Monster Children Issue 43 Mike D Limited Edition Box Set Monster Children are a little bit of everything when it comes to content, but y’could drop a pin anywhere within the skate/surf/art/lifestyle realms and not miss.
