Photolyfe: Nick Green
A beacon of light from Australia’s deep south.
Welcome to PhotoLyfe, in which Stab’s favourite photographers answer questions about themselves with their own images. It’s that old picture-tells-a-thousand-words chestnut but with more colour and pop. It’s a way to cut out all the bullshit. It’s like jacking into the main vein of those who supply us with exquisite surf imagery every day. Give thanks by studying each image with a more careful eye than ever!
Please extend a warm gesture to the Tasmanian lensman behind today’s photographic interview, Nick Green. Mr Green hails from that often forgotten raw slice of mother nature off the southern coast of mainland Australia, home of the iconic staircase of Shipsterns and some of the countries most photogenic locales (convenient for this trade, huh!). Anyway, this isn’t the first time Stab has featured his work, and surely won’t be the last.
“Growing up I really enjoyed all sorts of art at school,” says Nick. “I was alright at drawing but I was never able to create something from my mind and actually put it onto paper. I think that I’m a bit closer at doing that with photography, which is nice.”
