Welcome to PhotoLyfe, in which Stab’s favourite photographers answer questions about themselves with their own images. It’s that old picture-tells-a-thousand-words chestnut but with more colour and pop. It’s a way to cut out all the bullshit. It’s like jacking into the main vein of those who supply us with exquisite surf imagery every day. Give thanks by studying each image with a more careful eye than ever!

Allow us to introduce to you, Sir Kevin Jara. Kevin’s a San Diego (North County) based photog, who spends quality time away from home whenever possible. The young cat dabbles in everything from fine art, portraits, documentaries, concerts and of course surf imagery. He finds himself right at home when surround with his three favourite things; waves, whiskey and women. He’s most comfortable letting the shutter blast in gaping tunnels and snapping shot of the purest version of the female form in a dirty New York City alleyway. I’ve learned one thing from photography,” Mr Jara told Stab, “to quote Bukowski, ‘find what you love and let it kill you.’ And I intend to do just that.”
