Welcome to PhotoLyfe, in which Stab’s favourite photographers answer questions about themselves with their own images. It’s that old picture-tells-a-thousand-words chestnut but with more colour and pop. It’s a way to cut out all the bullshit. It’s like jacking into the main vein of those who supply us with exquisite surf imagery every day. Give thanks by studying each image with a more careful eye than ever!
You know Dion Agius as one of the world’s best aerialists. You know him as part of the Mod Col. You know him as a driving force behind Epokhe. You might even know him as the first surfer to create a digital video portal, something that plenty have copied since. And for a man as well travelled and well experienced as Dion, it only makes sense to have a camera in hand at all times, documenting what he sees. Dion is the first pro surfer we’ve had under the Photolyfe spotlight, but considering he taught Kai Neville how to use a lens, it’s well deserved stage time…
