Filmlyfe 2.0: Nick Jones

If you’ve been coming to this website for some time, then perhaps you’ll recall a series called Filmlyfe. It lives with renewed vigour! Teaming up with our pals at Electric, each episode provides a glimpse into the lives of our favourite filmers, via the medium they best communicate through: Video clips.

Nick Jones was 13 when he picked up his first DV camcorder, shooting friends in the waters around his Sunshine Coast homeland. Those were the days when importing footage to your PC took hours and more often than not, resulted in some kind of psychosis-inducing system error. His patience and persistence paid off. Now he’s pointing his RED in the direction of the likes of John Florence, Rob Machado, Harry Bryant and Mikala Jones (who play lead roles in his digital Q&A above). Stab has borrowed Nick’s services in the past for our Red Eye episodes and you can bet he’ll be gracing the walls of our cinema section in years to come.
