Reading Time: 2 minutes

There were still plenty of beers in the esky when I arrived on Friday night. A pleasant surprise, with the knowledge that the conclusion of SURFCASSETTE 2 and Irvines art show, would see Creedo’s Wash and The Pist Idiots take the stage.

After throwing back a few of the aforementioned beverages, I mingled among the room of deal makers. The strict “No Suit, No Entry” rule in full effect. Once the esky was nothing more than water and ice, I realised it was time to secure prime property – wedging myself centre right, less than four heads back from the screen. The 200 plus patrons that scattered themselves between the screen and road attempted to squeeze in the Newtown warehouse, seemingly bursting with anticipation.

The roller door came crashing down, front door closed and it heated up like a fucking fernace. The crowd was literally dripping with sweat. But, they didn’t care, nor did I. We stood shoulder to shoulder, eyes locked on the action. The people screamed and shouted. Success.

For those that didn’t attend Stab have been assured the film will release online in the near future. For now you will have to settle for the trailer above. The film is raw, down right hilarious and follows Beau Foster, Harry Bryant, Creed McTaggert, Ozzie Wright, Shaun Manners, Noa Deane, Craig Anderson, and a few home grown heros menacing rather large Aussie pipes.

At the conclusion, after serval minutes of congrats and cahoots, Wash and Pist plugged in. Their performance was energetic. Unfortunately, it was loud enough to gather the attention of the police. Everyone spilled onto the streets, the law spoiled our fun. Though, not our night. We got everything we came for. The free beers were gone, the art was sold, the film had played and the bands ruled an intimate stage.

Yesterday the team at SC released their formal statement in celebration of a night to remember: “We continue to influence future entrepreneurs and earn the pinstripes we clothe ourselves in.” Whatever that means, something about stocks, I’m certain.

Stay tuned for more information on the offical release date.

Imagine, believe, succeed, SURFCASSETTE.
