Watch: Chippa Wilson In The Most Progressive Softboard Edit We’ve Seen Yet

Captured in just two sessions!

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Throwing an air rev on a softy ain’t average. Unless of course, you’re Chippa Wilson. Drag Board Co, our prone friends from south of Sydney, have just made a bold move, plunging into the world of stand up softboard production. They’ve released an extensive selection of sponges celebrating death, darts and chicken drumsticks. And aren’t they glorious? Perfect for those that prefer obscene graphics and 4’10” twinnies, or 8″ singles. Or 4’6″ stand up boogs, or even, some not-so-average 5’6″ thrusters. Which, if we are being honest, host some rather sexy underlays.

It’s clear that Chippa can ride fucking anything. He’s a freak. The Draggers disclosed to Stab that he filmed the above hype clip in two sessions. Allegedly, he was stupidly excited after a spell of no waves. And when this bump approached he grabbed his Dart, Speed McDraggit and a Drumstick in search of waves around his homeland in northern NSW. Didn’t ever bother to swap out his squishy stock fins. Which, is kind of ridiculous – just imagine what he could have achieved with a performance set screwed in.

Drag Boards

We’d heard whispers that the draggers were going to make the move into the softer side of stand-up. It makes perfect sense as well, guys who spent a long time on and off the lid tour, delivering a range of flaccid surfcraft that just might unite the two tribes. Production rumours were confirmed around the time that Stab was told Chipp had thrown down and purchased shares in the boog cash cow. Now we’ve seen something tangible from the gents, including the three minute spectacle above, which you really should have already begun viewing…

Here’s some words to ponder, from the gents of Drag:

The kind of rhetoric to put the fear of God into the savviest fibreglass warrior. Their leader turned Drag disciple casting the glass aside to DRAG out his days in the soft eternity of Caba backbeach, where the sun shineth on the gently rolling crest, the specimens gather beachside in number and the tins flow all the way through the carpark.

Also feat Drag disciples Jake Vincent, Robbie Rickard, Dan Scott & a host of other specimens

Filmed – Maddog
Additional Foot – Dan Scott (disciple)
Cut – Jimbo Slice
