A Sunny Disposition: Tevita Gukilau

Not many people are lucky enough to have a job that finds them in boardshorts everyday. It’s just a fact. Unless you’re going to make it as a professional surfer – and let’s face it, you’re probably not – chances are you’re going to spend your time bolted to a desk in an office cubicle, or digging holes. However, there’s a select few who’ve really thought about this vocation thing, and have sculpted their lifestyle so that they can spend the majority of the sunlight hours wearing boardshorts. These are the stories of these visionaries. Welcome to a Sunny Disposition.   Now, let’s meet:   Tevita Gukilau   Tevita Gukilau, or Veets as he’s more fondly known to pals, is a half-Fijian, half-Australian gent who embodies the idea that life is better in boardshorts. Splitting his days between working in the mines of WA, and working as a lifeguard on Fiji’s Namotu, Veets spends the majority of his time in trunks, lighting up reef breaks and digging on another favourite hit: Spearfishing. Here we jam with Veets at playful Cloudbreak and tap our eardrums with the depths of a Fijian spearfishing session, in a pair of Billabong’s finest Tribong boardshorts.   Improve your life with boardshorts via Billabong’s range, here.
