Did you know that Liam O’Brien and Jeremy Flores had a post-heat spat at the Rottnest Island event, following a questionable use of priority by the young Aussie wildcard?

We didn’t, at least not until Liam told us about it in a recent interview with Jed Smith.

Our best chance to see this dispute in action will be in the WSL’s upcoming reality show, Make or Break, but for now, all we’ve got is a shoddy recording from a clandestine League source. It’s embedded deep in this week’s episode of The Drop.

Speaking of our weekly podcast (listen on Spotify, Soundcloud, or Apple Pods), your host Danny Johnson is out again, as he’s currently caught in a pit of quicksand and surrounded by a tribe of cannibalistic natives. We wish him the best in his escape, preferably this week but maybe next.

In the meantime, you’re stuck with Buck and me for another week on The Drop. This week we discuss…

– the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing (2:00)
– the Backdoor Shootout (6:30)
– Apple gets into surfing (15:15)
– Jordy Smith’s recent recovery (17:45)
– LOB and Jeremy Flores bicker (25:20)
– A Kelly Slater story (29:30)
– Surf sin (36:30)
– The Stab CUSP (46:30)
– Yago Dora is injured — what does that mean for this year’s CT? (51:15)
– Mike and Stace’s SSOTY picks (58:10)
