Rally The Troops: Vote #1 Fisher In The Hottest 100

Let’s pump up the Grammy nominated ex-pro-surfer part-time comedian and get him to the top of the Hottest 100.

Other than the odd StabFM and infrequent festival plug we’re not much of a music news site. But when our interest in auditory distraction crosses paths with our surf-obsession it’s hard to pass up some coverage.

And when it comes to crossovers, there’s few as enticing as Paul Fisher’s complete rebranding as the now very famous, and critically acclaimed tune producer. Paul Fisher, now better known simply as Fisher, threw in his QS grinding and occasional surf-coverage days to pursue the music and party life as one half of the duo that was, Cut Snake.

Due to Cut Snake’s danceable tunes and stage presence, they were a hit around Australia’s coastal music (read: party) scene. And for those uninterested in the music, sufficient entertainment was provided to them via Cutsnake and Fisher’s persistently intriguing Instagram accounts.

A few years later, Fisher cut ties with the Snake in pursuit of a solo musical venture. He then adopted the eponymous title, FISHER.

The cause of Fisher’s current stardom is a bit like the chicken and the egg: did the repetitive earworms come first, or was it Fisher’s IG handle @followthefishtv which led his disciples towards the tracks? Whatever the cause, Fisher is now a household name amongst Australian and International youths. He copped a Grammy nomination at the end of last year for Losing It for Best Dance Recording, held the most played track at Tomorrowland, and is sure to be sneaking around the upper echelons of this weekend’s hottest 100 countdown on Triple J.

Since we’ve been following the Fish for so long, and that there’s less than 24 hours left to vote in the Hottest 100, we thought it’d be best to give him a little plug.

Head here to vote for Fisher’s ‘Losing It’ in the Hottest 100!
