When Sleep Is Futile: Loods (Triple J Mix-up)
Stab’s former Editor in Chief turned London music producer created a late night playlist well worth your while.
About 12 months ago, we received the news that our dear Elliot Struck was leaving Stab Magazine with heavy hearts. He’d been with us for nearly a decade.
Strucky was a charm, scribing such pleasantries on the spines of our magazines as, “Stab frequently taps into the vertebrae of life; come on, let’s snort some gold dust!”
His true love, however, resides in samples, BPM and making bad girls dance (he’d play all our house parties). When he departed from his leading position, he moved to London to pursue music (and to take a creative director role at an esteemed creative agency). His sound echoes house music of the early noughties with modern flair. He rolls under the name Loods, and we dig this mix.
A few weeks back, he was featured on Triple J’s “The Mix Up”, a Saturday night shift on the iconic Australian radio station. We know this will probably only appeal to a narrow portion of our audience but we do love this Loods mix-up – an easy listening playlist for when the party rolls back to your place, the lights dim, and you nod your head until the sun breaks through your kitchen shades.
Hit play.
