Cub Sport And Middle Kids Are Uniting For A Free Tour

Welcome back summer, you’re early. The mercury’s rising here in Australia and with it comes that primal urge to exit the winter burrow and celebrate. In the spirit of the occasion, Summer Bright Lager have announced that they’ll be bringing two of the country’s flagship indie acts together to a beachside venue near you.

It’ll be a six stop tour, from Wollongong to the Sunshine Coast and every major watering hole between, lead by glistening pop outfit, Cub Sport and Sydney’s country-hued rock group, Middle Kids. A delightful and easy listening collaboration indeed. To embrace the coming season, the gigs will kick off in the afternoon, when refreshments are most appreciated – especially after you’ve been bumping about in the front row.

Coincidentally at the time of this tour release, Cub Sport have just dropped their highly anticipated second album, Bats. It’s so fresh we haven’t even given it a spin yet. Take privilege by being the first to listen above.

Meanwhile Middle Kids are coasting in a van between venues, somewhere in the States. They’ve been in the midst of a full US tour, and recently appeared on Conan O’Brien, who reportedly took a liking! They’ll have barely shaken their jetlag by the time they take the stage at the first gig in Wollongong. 

Along with our friends, Life Without Andy, Stab will be riding shotgun throughout the whole affair. We’ve cast invites out to some of our very talented surfing acquaintances to join, and together with the bands, we’ll be spending time in the water and generally meandering around the venues – with a lens or two of course!

Allow us to reiterate that there’s no tickets to these shows, they’re completely free, and if popularity resembles that of Summer Bright’s last Summer Sessions tour, you’ll want to swing in early.
