Would You Pack This Imploding Cavern Or Straighten Out To Safety?

Colin Moran takes an elevator to hell.

Southern California recently experienced a window of mid-sized combo swell and light-to-offshore winds.

A certain surf forecasting site called it “Fair to Good,” or even just “Good,” in certain jurisdictions.

The reality? Slightly overhead peaks, the odd tube to be found, and 50 of your best friends in every square hectare of surf.

That’s so So-Cal. And probably the reason why San Diego, Orange, and LA County surfers have made a point to emigrate east when Atlantic swells emerge and the winds hook west (or in this case, north).

A couple weeks back, New York had two days of sublime shorebreak tubes. All the regulars, like Sam Hammer, Balaram Stack, Mike Gleason, and Pat Schmidt were there, but we also saw some Golden Staters in the Big Apple, like Andrew Jacobson, Tyler Stanaland, and Colin Moran, the latter of which packed a viciously imploding pit just for the fuck of it. Would you have done the same, or rather straightened out to safety like a good little boy scout?
