“We Found The Smallest Waves On The Island For This”
An actual small wave board test with Kian Martin and his CI Solution.
Two weeks ago, Channel Islands Surfboards released the promo video for their newest model — a round tailed polyurethane disc dubbed The Solution.
“We were hearing from our friends on the East Coast that they needed a board for bad waves,” Britt explained in the video.
What followed was footage of the CI team riding said board in bad waves around the world. Except… there were a few clips of decent waves mixed in with the groveling.
The keyboard samurai drew their katanas.
“Are the bad waves in the room with us now?” wrote one YouTube commenter.
“These clips are supposed to be bad waves? I mean cmon,” wrote another.
And so, above and below, CI has delivered footage of their team riders indulging in truly bad surf on the Solution, with remarkably good results.
Kian Martin above, Reef Heazlewood below.
“I’ve never thought a board this small could actually allow me to do the things I want on it,” said Kian, before delivering a masterclass in wobbly waist high Canggu surf.
Reef Heazlewood called it the ‘best small wave board he’s ever had,’ and proves it below by mincing up some Japanese mushburgers that would make even Jadson Andre nod in approval.
