Wave Garden Unleashed
Last week we posted the teaser for a new concept called the Wave Garden. After eight years of development, Basque Technology are finally ready to unleash their creation on the world. Some of the most interesting things y’should know about this gem: 1) It can be installed in a natural lake, lagoon, river, etc. This means there’s no need to build tons of concrete for it, though it can also be used in a normal wave pool. 2) The wave maintains its shape and speed for as long as y’want. If you gots a lake, lagoon, river or the like that stretches for 10 clicks, then guess what? You can have a wave that runs for 10 km. And maintains its shape the whole way. 3) It uses far less energy than other technologies. 4) Most of the equipment is underwater (as y’can see from the video), so the aesthetics of the site are maintained. Check out these videos of the machinery in action. The one below even shows Jordy and pals shredding it. Yup, it looks pretty mini now, BUT… The developers are currently working on bigger waves. Can you imagine this thing at six feet, running for 10 clicks Wavegarden (Extended) from wavegarden on Vimeo.
