Surf trips don’t always have to be about strangling your rail in a six-foot cave. 

Occasionally—not all the time, but occasionally—surfers should seek experiences beyond finding the “perfect wave”, if there even is such a thing (there is). 

In episode two of Weird Waves, host Dylan Graves and tagalong Dane Gudauskas venture to Tarkwa Bay, Nigeria, in search of a playful right wedge and the local community that find refuge in it. 

While the surf is undeniably fun, the trip’s real takeaway is that surfing, when stripped of all the industry and ego, is a purely enjoyable and even communal pursuit.
