It’s been two months — long and golden — since Jonathan Florence set a third world title on his shelf. After a year of domination, the world sucked in a breath, holding it tight as John, calm as a stone, shot a caffeine-climaxing Italo Ferreira full of morphine. 

Since then, not much has come from our reclusive world champ. Probs sailing, taming bees, building his empire, and being a daddy.

But today, John’s taken a rare break from life away from the internet — handing us a 7-minute raw tape of him surfing at home on the North Shore. 

The edit is a prime display of John’s frontside rail, which, despite being ingrained in our memories since he first washed up on the North Shore, remains as delectable as ever. A string of his signature Margs’ turns, almost identical, as if he’s rehearsing them just to rub it in.
