Australia’s Gold Coast is known, firstly, for Schoolies Week, where freshly legal teens drink themselves sideways, while cramming into skyscrapers that hang over white beaches. It’s also known for its overwhelming population of beautiful people. 

Shortly thereafter, it’s known for surfing — particularly sand-bottom, right-hand points that have birthed A-list Australian celebrities like Mick Fanning, Joel Parkinson, and Steph Gilmore — who, as fate would have it, are both beautiful people and surfer people.

The Gold Coast is known for many things, but lefts aren’t one of them — which makes Sheldon Simkus’ recent YouTube offering an incredibly crooked little gem. The clip features Occy, who seems to be suckling from the same fountain of youth as Kelly Slater. Not bad, considering his longtime devotion to burgers and benders, while Kelly sought out immortality through chia seeds and Ivermectin.
