Will we be seeing similar gale-force onshores through the event window?

“The Jetstream is being a real dick currently,” writes Paul Evans, in his lyrical event preview. “It’s pretty normal for it to migrate south in winter, but not this far — current models have it over North Africa, when it should be over France. That could be somewhat problematic, with gales forecast for the early part of the waiting period and gales being forecast for the latter.”
Though Paul goes further in depth through his piece, the gist is simple — the singular European stop on the 2024 CT may not continue the trend of pristine conditions which began in Hawaii.
With howling westerly arrows occupying much of the event window, conditions will likely be what filmmaker Peyton Willard would describe as ‘challenging.’
Above, he documents a handful of the world’s best making unruly airdrops and overhead onshore sections look like a playful day at T-Street. Standouts include a decidedly invigorated Liam O’Brien, alongside backhand stalwarts Ryan Callinan and Connor O’Leary.
As for last year’s Portuguese champ, Paul writes, “You’d be mad not to fancy that Griffin Colapinto’s response to a lukewarm North Shore campaign starts right here. His all-round game seems perfectly suited to the anything-and-everything Supers can throw at you. Having said that though, it’s a been a minute since Griff stamped his authority on an event. Before the disappointment at Lowers, you have to go back to El Sal last June for his last finals day. Huh?”
