Your Internet Goose Chase Ends Now
Twenty-four minutes around the globe with Mitch Coleborn, Ozzy Wright, Dusty Payne and more.
Nate Leal is a filmer for Volcom. He is a proud citizen of not only the world but also Cambria, California. Have you ever been to Cambria, California? Let us paint a picture.
Cambria is home to just over 6000 people. It is in Central California, just south of Big Sur, and boasts a comparable degree of beauty except without the romance, fanfare, Jack Kerouac books, rich naked people spa places, Prius drivers taking photos of that one bridge, etc. The local pharmacy sells t-shirts featuring a pixelated photograph of seals and text that reads STRAIGHT OUTTA CAMBRIA. There is one bar in town — called Mozzi’s — and inside, it looks like a 1990s truck driver’s dream funeral. In other words, Cambria is perfection and perfection is Cambria.
Anyway, Nate Leal took some time away from Mozzi’s to create Goose Chase just for you. His job with Volcom has sent him to some of the world’s finest corners to point a camera at a few of your favorite surfers — like Mitch Coleborn, Ozzy Wright, Dusty Payne, Parker Coffin, Andrew Doheny, Yadin Nicol, Zeke Lau and more. The footage dates from 2011 until now and, as Nate puts it, features “professional surfers chasing a goose around the globe.”
Speaking of which: fair chance you’ve arrived here through an internet goose chase. You know, a cycle of boredom, mindlessness and disenchanted scrolling all in the pursuit of something worth your while.
Well, that ends now — you’ve got twenty-four minutes and thirteen seconds of surfing to watch.
