ESPN’s E:60’s documentaries are the pinnacle of sports journalism. They tear into the personality behind the athletes: the troubles, trauma, psyche and triumphs. They’ve covered everyone from Bo Jackson, Vin Scully, Michael Jordan to Marshawn Lynch and anyone with a story worth telling. So, they’ve just released this, with Mick Fanning post the shark attack in J-Bay and narrated by actor and pretty decent surfer, Chris Hemsworth. Here’s the documentary in its entirety. It dives much deeper than the shark attack heard round the world and is a more insightful documentary than surf media could ever produce. Mick’s like the surfing version of Tony Robbins, inspirational and has the ability penetrate emotions. “The world deals people these cards,” says Mick. “You have the choice to be crippled by them or you have the choice to go okay, I’m gonna go and make a better version of myself. That’s how I look at it.”
