“Starting to think Stab might have hired the wrong board tester,” wrote Mikey C in an email back to the Channel Islands team after receiving the above video. 

In our recent board test, Mikey had a hard time with Channel Islands’ new shortboard, despite their eponymous link. After trying three sets of fins in a variety of waves, our EIC was able to find some level of connection with Mikey’s Shorty, but not enough to convince savvy viewers. 

“Looked terrible,” wrote one Premium commenter. “Like you couldn’t get the rail in the water for love nor money.”

After watching the video of Charly Quivront above, we’re thinking the issue may have indeed been the Italian and not the sausage.

“Charly decided to ride with glass ons, and looks like we should have done that with your board,” said the Channel Islands team, in response to Mikey’s email note.
