Watch: A Week At The Pipe Challenger With Griffin Colapinto And Friends
“Its looking like a 10 outta 10”
When we landed in Hawaii for the Pipe Challenger two weeks ago, the forecast looked anything but firing. Onshore wind and massive swells looked to plague the event window, and local forecast shot-caller Billy Kemper was looking down the barrel of an unforgiving week.
The reality?
With a few days of gentle south wind hidden between blasts of onshore, the first ever Challenger event at Pipe surprisingly saw some of the best conditions this winter. Though Callum Robson took the win (which jumped him just one spot from CT requalification) and World #2 Griffin Colapinto put on a performance which left us looking forward to the return of CT surfing.
