Tom Carroll Riding A Tom Curren Sled?

This one threw me for a loop. When I opened an email related to “TC Free Scrubber”, I expected to be digitally interacting with the enigmatic Tom Curren. Makes sense no? Especially considering the three time World Champion’s Barra De La Cruz antics inspired the eponymous film “Free Scrubber.”

However, upon opening the video, I was confronted by a different World Champion with the initials TC — Tom Carroll.

Despite the fact that the two were once head-to-head competitors in a generation where camraderie was a foreign term, times have changed, and Carroll has no qualms in complimenting Curren’s re-invented sled.

Along with Luca Elder of Onboard Store, the Australian TC tries out the new CI Free Scrubber model, and reminisces on the first time he saw Tom Curren surfing a twin fin.

There’s even some obligatory fin talk, and a surfboard-beer metaphor.
