This Is What Four Months Alone On Kandui Looks Like
Probably not homesick.
Covid has been nothing but a burden for surfers around the world. Unless, ya know, you happened to be in the Mentawais while the whole globe shut its doors for 4 months. Costa Rican surfer Anthony Fillingim has brought new meaning to the phrase “right place, right time.” But you already know that.
On the off-chance that you didn’t read our string of editorial about Anthony this year, he had every world-class wave around Kandui to himself. That’s the kinda luck money can’t buy. Can you imagine? Getting barreled so many times it becomes boring? Not to mention the consistency of the surf in the Ments. If Anthony was struggling with any maneuver prior to this excursion (sure doesn’t look like it), I’m sure he worked out the kinks by the end of the trip. Enjoy this footage of the lucky lad scoring absolute perfection without a soul in sight.
And while this is something of a season recap, it doesn’t even include his waves from the Big Swell. Those live here.
