What breaks more boards, barrels or airs?

Whatever the answer, Surboardbroker’s team enjoys them both in excess. If you’re not familiar with Surboardbroker, then prepare to have your world opened as they’ve pretty much taken the idea behind your local surf shop’s annual board swap and blown the doors off it. Any day of the year you can go into their downtown Carlsbad storefront and buy, trade, or swap boards, picking from the hundreds they have in stock at any given point. Having become a favorite dumping ground for the region’s ample population of pro surfers, the crew pride themselves on offering boards that you’d be hard-pressed to find anywhere else.

With a business model that survives off keeping a continuous stream of good boards in motion, how does one go about selecting ambassadors with which to align their brand? One could say that the best team would be those who surf the boards with care and preserve their economic value, but that’s boring, no? Instead, the crew at Surfboardbroker packed their squad out with names that are notorious for snapping sticks. From guys like Flynn Novak and Kalani Chapman, who’ve been packing some of the deepest and scariest Pipe waves since the aughties, and Schuyler Allen and Marley Puglielli, both of whom have a general disregard for their lower extremity health, you won’t see anyone donning a surfboard broker sticker surfing “safe”. And why would they? When you have a literal warehouse full of A+ surfboards to pick from, there’s always another board on the beach, and they wouldn’t want it any other way.

Click in above to get a glimpse at what we’re talking about, and head here to check out Surboardbroker’s current inventory (Psssst they ship :).
