The Team Edit Is Alive And Well
Episode 2 of O’Neill’s ‘Hawaii Live’ series inside.
Team houses on the North Shore of Oahu have been a ubiquitous facet of any self respecting pro surfers’ career.
I don’t know when the first legitimate ‘team’ house was formed, but I do know that this tradition has been running strong for the better part of 3 decades (with many fruitful careers having come and gone in that time). While 2020 unfortunately saw the world’s most prolific pilgrimages canceled due to COVID-19, it was a real treat to see that the annual gathering of surfing’s top dogs was able to not only take place, but productively thrive in the way that it did.
O’Neill’s latest ‘Hawaii Live’ series highlights their team’s high octane surfing on the North Shore. No frills, no gimmicks, just their guys ripping anything and everything they can get their fins into.

Team O’Neill is impressively deep. In an edit that is notably missing two of the rosters top performers (Jordy Smith and Soli Bailey) the team carries the burden of entertainment with ease. Episode two of ‘Hawaii Live’ includes two well engaged bloggers (Brett Barley and Eli Olson), a Stab High victor (Ian Crane), an impressive up-and-comer (Robert Grilho), and two subterranean tunnel rats (Timmy Reyes AND Torrey Meister).
