A Pivotal Moment In One Surfer’s Life
Wise and counterclockwise expression with Ari Browne in “Portal”
Ari Browne is a strange cat.
He spent the better half of 2017 with a fidget spinner in his hand. His voice is akin to an awkward shoulder rub. He prefers his crafts friction free or made of foam or inflatable or some combination of the three. But, when he gets on a thruster, a single fin or a twinny, this window-hair-cutted kid can do some damn fine surfing.
This recent clip called “Portal” is the brainchild of Ari, Joshua Keogh, and JJ Stanbrook – a tale about ten of finless surfboards that could teleport him into a Moroccan dimension.
The storyline is delightfully cooked and what Ari does sans fins is baffling; a pleasant viewing experience, indeed.
Surfing needs more of this.
Go on, embrace the strange…
